Highlights
ES futures opened this week at 5964.00 as traders feared the worst possible outcome from the weekend activities on the geopolitical stage. A rally to a new high of the month belies those expectations.
Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA)
WBA began this week at 11.28 and held support at 11.22. The stock rallied to a high on Tuesday at 11.41, and bright the low up to 11.31. WBA closed Tuesday’s trading at 11.35 and is very close to the high of the month at 11.42. The high of the quarter is still 11.48. As close as this stock is to the high, just remember, WBA has been trading in a tight range of only 0.22 cents this month.
Kroger Corp (KR)
KR after the earnings report opened this week at 71.93 and moved past last week’s high at 72.23. The stock continued to higher highs on Tuesday by climbing to 74.28. The low this week was 71.50, and at this point that number should serve as support. Tuesday’s low was 72.24, and anything below that should give traders a bit of a warning that the 71.50 is approaching.
Cisco Systems Inc (CSCO)
CSCO just posted its sixth day in a row with higher highs and higher lows. The high at 68.04 is the next resistance point, and Tuesday’s low at 67.36 is currently the early warning. Last week’s low at 64.59 is your All Bets Off (ABO) number, and this week’s low from Monday at 66.20 should be considered for that next line of support.
Super Micro Computers (SMCI)
SMCI on Monday dropped down to 40.77, which is below last week’s 42.07 support. The stock has broken trend, though it does remain in the broader trading range. If this stock moves below that 40.77 low on Monday, then you may want to step aside, and put this one back on the shelf to be referenced at a later date and time.
The Broader Market
The current high of the year is 6166.50 and the current high of the month is 6155.25. Keep in mind that the month comes to a close in four days. The month of June opened at 5898.75. The low for the month has been 5867.50. The market may be a bit top heavy, but that has not stopped previous months from pushing into the close.
