Early in the night, it looked as though U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow's re-election was far from assured. But Stabenow pulled away late, defeating Republican challenger John James and holding on to the seat in which she has served since 2001. James, a businessman and Iraq veteran who was endorsed by President Donald Trump, was seen as a formidable challenger to Stabenow leading up to Tuesday. But Stabenow, who rallied in the state with former President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, won both the day and a fourth term. MORE |
