Detroit lands major convention, Grand Rapids nears deal with major corporation

There was some positive business news Tuesday coming from both sides of the state. In Detroit, Quicken Loans Chairman Dan Gilbert, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan were on hand to announce Forbes will bring its annual Under 30 Summit to the Motor City for three consecutive years through 2021. The event brings together more than 10,000 young entrepreneurs from 70 countries. On the other side of the state, it was announced efforts are underway to bring a 'global corporation' and hundreds of jobs to Grand Rapids. The two development firms involved in the project declined to name the company yet. MORE
