Even we Michiganders can be amazed by the enormity of the Great Lakes, and the fascinating weather-related events they produce. For instance, NOAA recorded a pair of meteotsunamis last month on Lake Michigan. Meteotsunamis create sudden spikes in water levels near the shoreline, and are formed by air-pressure changes and disturbances during fast-moving weather events.
