Quite a few Michiganders did! Including pilot Rod Pentoney who has caught Lady Aurora about 60 to 70 times before in places like Greenland, Iceland and Alaska, but said this show was the best he'd ever seen. Bundled in blankets to brave the chilly bayside air and armed with cameras, visitors flocked to the Bay City State Park to get a glimpse of the bright green aurora, a rarity in the area. If you missed out, there's still some fun in the sky to be seen. Five planets, the moon and a star cluster will align in what’s called a “planet parade" tonight. |

‘Right-to-work’ is repealed in victory for organized labor |
No longer: Michigan has become the first state in nearly 60 years to undo “right-to-work,” nearly one decade after it became law in the state. The policy prevented unions from requiring employees to join a union or pay fees in order to work in a unionized workplace. Let's dive into it: The U.S. Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Troy is evidence to some of Michigan’s top Republicans of a conspiracy. A partnership between the World Economic Forum and the state to help the manufacturing industry adapt to changing technology, the center has been spotlighted by state Republican chair Kristina Karamo, who speculates it’s the home of a globalist plot. Michigan has a transparency problem: Years of data indicate the state routinely ranks among the lowest in the country for government ethics an accountability measures. 6 Colorado men fined $6,600 for poaching 460 pounds of salmon in Northern Michigan |
Reeling in: Six Colorado residents will pay $1,100 each after they pleaded guilty to taking fish from the Manistee River via an illegal method. The DNR donated the 460 pounds of fresh fish to Manistee County families in need. Also in crime: Federal drug agents seized 20 kilos of fentanyl this week that was being transported from Grand Rapids to metro Detroit. The DEA said that amount of the painkiller fentanyl was enough to provide a deadly dose to nearly all 10 million people in Michigan. Okay now for some better news: Remember the 14-year-old who struggled to find shoes that fit? Eric Kilburn Jr. met with Robb Cropp, the senior director of Footwear Development at Under Armour, so the company could get a 3D rendering of his feet and make him custom shoes that will be Under Armour’s largest pair ever. |
