Mortgage rates are slowing housing sales, but high prices persist. |
July sales down: Following a national trend, July sales in Michigan were down 15.5% year-over-year, according to Michigan real estate data company Realcomp. Nationwide, existing home sales have been decreasing for five consecutive months.
What about prices? So far, prices remain high in Michigan. July’s median sales price was still 7.9% higher than last year at $258,900, according to Realcomp. Across the state, homes are selling, on average, in 19 days —still faster than a year before.
