Michigan police agencies fall woefully short of anti-brutality standards We asked an advocacy group ("8 Can't Wait," a leading advocacy group pushing for police reform nationwide) to review the use-of-force policies at major police agencies across Michigan. We obtained the policies from 12 agencies across the state using the Freedom of Information Act. The findings were atrocious. Of the Michigan police departments’ use-of-force policies reviewed, none met all of the standards. “Across the board," said DeRay Mckesson of the “8 Can’t Wait” campaign, "we found that the use of force policies in Michigan allow for deadly force in nearly all circumstances.” On average, only two of the eight standards were in place at the Michigan police agencies we examined. A small section of the Thumb has struggled to even get one inch of rain. A strip from Muskegon and Ludington through central Lower Michigan and into the Saginaw Valley and the Thumb have only had between one and two inches of rain. One inch of rain doesn’t go too far with the hot weather we had over the past month. What's going on here?
