The Detroit Tigers have endured plenty of bad early-season weather in Chicago in recent years: Rain, snow, freezing temperatures. But it seems this year's Opening Day against the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field will be different, the projected high temperature for the Tigers’ three games in Chicago -- March 28, 30 and 31 -- is a balmy 51 degrees. Last week, the Tigers settled on the 13 position players to start the regular season. Check out the roster here. |

Today's storms could pack thunder, winds to 60 mph, chance for tornado |
National Weather Service meteorologists say there is increasing confidence that areas in Michigan could see some severe weather this afternoon. The bulk of the Lower Peninsula is now in the marginal risk area for some elements of a severe storm. Timing-wise, the possible severe storm window is from noon to 7 p.m. While it will be windy for much of the day, with gusts up to 45 mph, winds could gust to 60 mph during that late-day storm window. These storms could also mean lightning, thunder and the chance for an isolated tornado or two. Eager to bloom: A whiplash weather system has set off some tulips to start blooming in downtown Holland, generating rumors of another Stem Fest. Person of interest is in custody after woman’s body found on U.S. 131 |
An update: A person of interest is in custody in the death of a woman whose body was found on U.S. 131 near Leonard Street NW, state police said. Police have also identified the woman. In Saginaw: For years, a doctor allegedly sexually harassed and abused several female patients. The hospital he worked for allegedly turned a blind eye to this, thereby allowing the doctor to victimize additional patients, according to a lawsuit. Appealing a pair of convictions: Shanda Vander Ark is serving a life sentence for torturing her 15-year-old son, Timothy Ferguson, to death. She is seeking to regain parental rights of her youngest child, who is 8. |

Murder Mystery troupe from Michigan lands huge ‘Shark Tank’ deal with Blumhouse CEO |
Score: They bring Clue-style murder mystery parties right to your front door. The CEO of this murder mystery troupe from Michigan appeared on “Shark Tank” and ended up landing a huge deal with the CEO of Blumhouse Productions, which is known for producing horror films. Scott Cramton of The Murder Mystery Company pitched a deal on the hit ABC show on Friday, March 15th asking for $350,000 for 5% stake in his company. Crampton, the founder, is from Grand Rapids. Now hiring: Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is seeking students ages 15 through 18 to participate in its Youth Conservation Corps, or YCC, summer youth employment program, the National Park Service announced. |

Lions rule proposal passes tight vote, new D-lineman hates hip drop tackle ban |
What's your opinion? The NFL has already announced a few notable rule changes for next season, including one that was proposed by the Detroit Lions. The committee also voted to ban the swivel hip-drop tackle. The vote was unanimous, although public opinion certainly is not.
