Michigan casts Electoral College votes for President-elect Joe Biden As a small group of President Donald Trump's supporters protested outside, Michigan's electors were inside the Capitol Building Monday afternoon confirming they would cast the state's 16 Electoral College votes to President-elect Joe Biden. States across the country held similar ceremonies yesterday as the Electoral College met to sign documents that reflect certified results of the November presidential election. Trump supporters and the president himself have refused to admit Biden won the election. Michigan Democratic Party Chair Lavora Barnes said Monday’s vote affirms that U.S. institutions remain strong under pressure. “The system works,” Barnes said.
