But, according to the AAA, there’s hope
The recent slide in gas prices is slowing and could reverse - but there is hope, according to AAA. As global oil prices increase amid constrained supply and higher demand as the weather warms up, prices at the pump could begin to climb again, the report said. But the price of crude oil is the main factor in pump prices right now. “As the days get longer, the weather gets warmer, and pump prices dip from their record highs, consumers feel more confident about hitting the road,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson. “But these lower pump prices could be temporary if the global price of oil increases due to constrained supply.” Current supply and demand factors would typically mean increased pump prices. However, if oil remains near $100 per barrel, prices at the pump could continue to decrease, the report said. | Ten Michigan Republicans have filed enough signatures to get on August’s primary election ballot for governor, as they jockey to be the GOP choice to run against incumbent Democrat Gretchen Whitmer this November. Candidates were required to submit at least 15,000 signatures but no more than 30,000 from registered Michigan voters to get their name on the Aug. 2 primary election ballot. The state still needs to verify signatures and make sure voters didn’t sign for multiple candidates. Some signatures could be tossed, but candidates will make the ballot as long as they have 15,000 valid signatures. They also need at least 100 valid signatures from half of Michigan’s congressional districts. | At this time of year the cold waters of the Great Lakes can sometimes delay a warm-up. Occasionally the delayed warm-up is then further cancelled because another storm system catches up to the area. This should not be the case with this situation. All of the data shows the warming being stopped Friday due to some showers and clouds. But then all of the data and us humans looking at the general weather pattern show a storm center tracking well north of Michigan. When a storm center tracks north of Michigan, a warm front attached to the storm center moves through Michigan. South of the warm front comes very warm air. READ MORE
