Hey, look, there's a bunch of snow out there! And more to come for some in Michigan The snow plows are getting their work out this week. And some of those winter fans in Lower Michigan got what they wanted -- a dump of powder. Our photographers were out to capture the excitement across the southern Lower Peninsula. There were kids playing, adults clearing snow and plow drivers operating those previously mentioned plows. If you don't feel like being out in the snow, these photos can give you a look at peak Michigan winter from the comfort of your warm couch ... or office chair, or bed, or even your bathtub (just don't drop your phone!). Save America PAC, a political action committee founded by Trump days after the 2020 election, donated $45,000 to nine Republican candidates running for state offices, according to campaign finance filings released Monday. Candidates will likely have to refund excess donations to the Trump committee to comply with Michigan law. That’s because the Trump PAC was formed as a political committee, which has a $2,100 donation cap for state Senate candidates and $1,050 limit for state House candidates. Civil rights compliance officers at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency met with Michigan activist Brandi Crawford-Johnson on Tuesday following the agency’s decision in 2021 to review her claim that state officials acted improperly when deliberating a permit application for the Graphic Packaging International mill in Kalamazoo. The office is investigating “whether EGLE discriminated on the basis of race” when approving the company’s emissions permit. The Wolverines’ head coach has decided to return to his alma mater for the 2022 season and informed athletic director Warde Manuel that he’s in it for the long haul, according to a Wednesday evening report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. A Michigan spokesman confirmed the news to MLive. The news comes on the same day Harbaugh, 58, was set to interview for the Vikings’ head-coaching vacancy in Minneapolis. He was reportedly one of four finalists for the job. Of the 100 counties, cities and townships that have reported their 2020 expected losses to the U.S. Treasury, 76 say they lost at least $1 million. Across the country, states, counties and cities lost and estimated $117 billion, per AP, with two-thirds of communities reporting a loss.
