Never before: For the first time in the state’s history, a statewide air quality alert went out for smoke pollution. But this is not the only bad air record set this month. Be aware: The Michigan Department of Transportation has about 50 road and bridge projects that require lane closures scheduled this week following the extended Independence Day weekend.
