It’s a boy and a girl! John Ball Zoo red panda cubs healthy and growing |
Red panda parents Wayne and Wasabi's two bundles of fluffy joy are growing well since their July birth, according to John Ball Zoo. The cubs are not yet on display in the outdoor enclosure but will be once they grow bigger. This particular time of year yields the perfect opportunity to view Michigan’s rarely seen freshwater jellyfish. According to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, these jellyfish are found in most Michigan lakes and streams, and are most frequently spotted in the late summer and early fall. Speaking of unique animal sightings, you can see an iconic Budweiser Clydesdale at these mid-Michigan spots this week. |

Mackinac Island unveils winning flavor ahead of Fudge Festival |
Made the cut: Mackinac Island lovers were asked to get creative this summer and suggest a flavor name for a new kind of fudge. “Crack in the Island Crunch”—named after Mackinac’s famous Crack in the Island landmark—was the winning entry.
