In a 2-1 decision, the Michigan Court of Appeals has ruled that a proposal to increase the state's minimum wage should appear on the November ballot. The proposal, put forward by Michigan One Fair Wage, would raise the state's minimum wage to $10 next year and to $12 by 2022. Tipped workers, who current make $3.52 before tips, would make the full minimum wage by 2024. While the court's ruling is a win for One Fair Wage, their fight might not be over. Michigan Opportunity, a group opposing the proposal, might take the case to the Supreme Court. MORE ►More in politics: Michigan's U.S. House incumbents mostly safe, election forecast predicts |
