Coronavirus is overwhelming Michigan hospitals and leaders warn 'the system can capsize' Michigan’s exponential growth of coronavirus cases is straining hospital resources across the state and the state’s health care system could “capsize” if trendlines don’t change, hospital leaders warned Thursday. “On a daily basis, we’re getting both anecdotal evidence and data from small rural hospitals, large urban systems and everything in between -- from literally every region throughout Michigan -- that our hospitals are rapidly filling with COVID patients at a very alarming rate,” said Brian Peters, chief executive officer of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association. Branden Snyder, executive director of Detroit Action, said Trump is smearing Black election workers in cities like Detroit, Atlanta and Philadelphia.
