An agreement announced earlier this month between the state of Michigan and the U.S. Air Force already is coming under fire. The verbal agreement was meant as a step forward in the investigation of PFAS contamination at the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda. However, local officials and activists are not impressed. In fact, a pair of individuals - Oscoda Township supervisor Aaron Weed and Metro Detroit attorney Tony Spaniola - have blasted the agreement, going so far as calling it "propaganda." They say the agreement actually is an impediment to speeding up the sluggish investigation.
