Happy Friday, and welcome to the Nov. 1 edition of the Saints Insider newsletter. We are two days away from the Saints’ road game against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium. Here’s a look at our stories from Thursday. Rattler review With Derek Carr set to return this week, it means the end of Spencer Rattler’s time as a starter. Columnist Jeff Duncan looks back at Rattler’s three starts and tells you what we learned. Players-only meeting update There have been some meetings after the Saints’ loss to the Chargers. But those have involved Dennis Allen and the captains. Cam Jordan gave an update on the chances of a players-only meeting taking place sometimes soon. Beta writer Matt Paras has the details here. A World Series tie There’s one Saints player who was thrilled to see the Los Angeles Dodgers win the World Series on Wednesday night. That would be safety Ugo Amadi, who attended the same high school as Dodgers superstar outfielder Mookie Betts. I caught up with Amadi about it as he reflected on his time with Betts at their Nashville school. Olave head gear Receiver Chris Olave has had a history with concussions. Will that cause him to start wearing a protective Guardian Cap? Our Luke Johnson caught up with Olave to see. Banged up The Saints’ injury report wasn’t great Thursday, especially for the secondary. See Thursday’s injury report to find out which players are missing. That’s all for today. Be sure to go to www.nola.com today for more updates. Also, we’ll record an episode of The Saints Insider podcast today, so make sure you’re subscribing to the YouTube channel. As always, thanks for reading. Rod Walker |
