More on LSU's COVID rules

LSU had already said it won't be requiring vaccinations for now. On Monday — in addition to announcing that Mike the Tiger has been vaccinated — the university released more details on what students are expected to do before they get to campus, and how the university will check to make sure they did it. The unprecedented surge in COVID cases isn't slowing in South Louisiana. Hundreds more were admitted to ERs with the disease over the weekend.

Better storm detection for Baton Rouge?

Last hurricane season, many Baton Rouge residents complained that they were getting a whole bunch of urgent weather alerts that ended up being duds. That might not happen as often now that the National Weather Service is moving a radar system from Slidell to Hammond.

A lawsuit with 900 plaintiffs

Allen Stanford is in prison, convicted of taking money that was supposed to go into people's retirement accounts and using it to fund a lavish lifestyle for himself. Some 900 people who say they were his victims blame Louisiana regulators for letting him get away with the Ponzi scheme, and their massive class action lawsuit has dragged on for more than a decade.
