'Our detectives are working hard'

As murders soar in Baton Rouge, case-closure rates continue to fall. While the Sheriff's Office manages to keep pace with homicides in unincorporated parts of the parish, BRPD struggles to resolve murder cases in the city proper. Elyse Carmosino and Lea Skene have the story. 


Cox outage 

Internet and cable service went out for much of southeast Louisiana from Friday night through Saturday morning. Cox, the state's leading internet service provider, didn't elaborate on what caused the massive outage beyond saying it had something to do with "voltage issues." Reporter Elyse Carmosino interviewed folks in the capital region to find out how they were affected. Here's her story. 


Homicide in South Baton Rouge

A man fatally shot his wife at a relative's home off Pecan Tree Drive late Friday before turning the gun on himself. Here's what police told us about the shooting.
