Good morning and welcome back to your daily news roundup.

Shot for $100

After naming the $1 million grand prize winner in Louisiana's COVID vaccine lottery, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced more cash incentives to push people to get immunized.

Among them: "Shot for $100," which offers the first 75,000 college students who participate a $100 gift card in exchange for getting vaccinated.

Julia Guilbeau has the details here. If you missed the Edwards, presser, you can watch that here.

Moving day

Thousands of LSU students moved to campus Friday, putting the school's 11th hour COVID protocols to the test. Our reporter Caroline Savoie was there to cover it. Here's her dispatch.

NCAA probe extended

An investigation into the LSU men's basketball and football programs was supposed to wind down after three years on July 31. But the deadline was pushed back yet again. Here's the latest.
