Monster Jam Massive monster trucks will take over Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse this weekend as a part of Monster Jam’s touring motorsports show. Each Monster Jam show features competitions for drivers to win in racing, skills challenge and freestyle categories. A highlight of the show is Grave Digger, a truck that has set multiple Guinness World Records for wheelies and ramp jumps, driven by Krysten Anderson, according to a press release. Pit parties are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 11 and 10 a.m. on Sept. 12. Monster Jam shows take place at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sept. 11 and 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 12. Stewart Copeland and the Cleveland Orchestra Police drummer Stewart Copeland performs "Police Deranged for Orchestra“ with the Cleveland Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Blossom Music Center. Copeland tells music writer Gary Graff that “Police Deranged for Orchestra” is a concert built around his old band’s music and inspired by the arrangements Copeland created for “Everyone Stares,” his Police documentary made from home movies he made during the band’s early days. Tri-C JazzFest This year’s Tri-C JazzFest takes place Sept. 11-12 at Cain Park and is headlined by THE Spanish Harlem Orchestra and Catherine Russell. Akronym Brewing won a silver best-of-show award in the National Honey Beer Competition, which included 240 beers entered in more than a dozen categories. Meanwhile, Masthead Brewing Co. won best of show for its Svartalfheim Schwarzbier at Cleveland Oktoberfest - which continues Friday-Saturday, Sept. 10-11. MTV Video Music Awards The MTV Video Music Awards will get a dose of "Bieber fever" for the first time in six years. Justin Bieber returns to the VMA stage for an all-star caliber event held Sunday at the Barclays Center in New York. The pop star leads this year's show with seven nominations, including video of the year and artist of the year. Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, BTS and Drake are other top nominees. Bieber last took the VMAs stage when he performed "What Do You Mean" in 2015. Other performers include Lil Nas X, Camila Cabello, Chloe, Kacey Musgraves, Shawn Mendes, Olivia Rodrigo, Machine Gun Kelly and Doja Cat — who will also serve as the show's host. Concerts at Jacobs Pavilion Two big shows will take over the Jacobs Pavilion stage this weekend. Up first is Flogging Molly and Violent Femmes on Saturday, along with support from Me First and the Gimme Gimmes and Thick. Then, Coheed & Cambria and The Used will co-headline a rocker on Sunday, with pop-punk group Meet Me @ The Altar set to open. BTS K-pop sensation BTS are set to appear on a special episode of YouTube Originals' "Released." The band will be joined by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin on the weekly music series that will premiere on Friday at midnight. An intimate conversation will be held about their shared experiences as musicians and BTS' inspiration for the #PermissiontoDance challenge. The three-week challenge, which began July 23, had BTS encouraging people to make 15-second YouTube short videos incorporating the international sign gestures for joy, dance and peace. The episode will also feature a "Permission to Dance" music video, which will be remixed by BTS. DETAILS
