S.C. export sales reach $41.5B in 2019

South Carolina set a record for total export sales for the 10th year in a row last year, with the state’s exporters selling $41.5 billion in products in 2019. This is a 19.7% increase over 2018 and ranks 11th among all states. Texas was the top exporter, with $330.5 billion in products sold.

Port’s volume growth continues

The S.C. Ports Authority moved 211,020 TEUs across the Wando Welch and North Charleston container terminals in January, the highest total ever for January TEU volumes. Measured by the total number of boxes handled, the port moved 118,943 pier containers in January, for a total of 813,599 pier containers this fiscal year.

Choice Hotels franchises 3rd Cambria Hotel in Lowcountry

A Cambria Hotel has opened in the Nexton Town Center in Summerville. The hotel, developed by Four Raines LLC, is the third Cambria Hotel to open in the Lowcountry, in addition to properties in Mount Pleasant and Charleston.
