Merri Ann had an excellent ham yesterday so I'll look forward to ham sandwiches for the next few days.
I'm fond of Monte Cristo-type sandwiches. They are dipped in an egg batter like French toast and grilled. The original is made with ham, cheese, and raspberry jam. The jam is a nice touch--think, cranberry sauce or a sweet glaze with your ham. We also have a Monte Cristo made with honey instead of jam.
Either way, think of these as types, not recipes, and create your own.
