Good afternoon! It's Tuesday, March 8, and today's headlines include the U.K. Medical Council lifting restrictions it imposed upon a doctor over abortion pill reversal treatment, details from a recent panel featuring mothers fighting against gender ideology in schools and the latest episode from The Christian Post Podcast.
The U.K.'s General Medical Council has dropped its case against Dr. Dermot Kearney, a consultant for the National Health Service and former president of the U.K.-based Catholic Medical Association who had restrictions imposed on him for providing women with abortion pill reversal treatments. "My hope is that women across the U.K. will now be told by medical regulators and abortion providers that abortion reversal treatment is safe, that it is available, and that success is possible if they regret their decision to have an abortion and choose to seek help," Kearney said in a statement released by his legal counsel, Christian Legal Centre.

Mothers fighting back against gender ideology indoctrination in the public school system detailed the devastating harms it has had on their children and families during a panel discussion at the Heritage Foundation on Monday. "Under the banner of nondiscrimination, they are assisting students to transition genders … and they do it without parental consent ... and in the policy, they are very clear that parents are not included in this," explained panelist Nicole Solas, who was sued by the teachers union in her state because she filed public records requests seeking information about the teaching of gender theory and critical race theory in schools. Alexandria, Va., a suburb of Washington, D.C., has dropped plans to make this Thursday “Abortion Provider Appreciation Day” following pushback from the local Roman Catholic Diocese. Mayor Justin Wilson, a Democrat, announced plans for the day last week, saying it was meant to “celebrate the courage, compassion, and the high-quality care that abortion providers and clinic staff provide.” Bishop Michael Burbidge of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Arlington released a statement in response, labeling the proposal to celebrate abortion a "direct, violent attack on human life" and called for the city to instead "re-direct its focus toward recognizing and supporting both mothers and their children, as so many dedicated and compassionate people in Alexandria do each day.”

Heiser was right in tweeting, "The idea that Ezekiel 38 and 39 is about Russia or a Russian invasion has literally no merit in terms of exegesis.” Read more.
"In a terrific win for parents, hardworking students, and those who want to end discrimination in our schools, a federal judge has thrown out the racist admissions policy of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, a prestigious public magnet school in Fairfax County, Virginia," write Hans von Spakovsky and Sarah Parshall Perry. In this op-ed, the authors discuss the school's now-defunct policy and its origins, including internal emails and other evidence that showed the 12 members of the school board were upset by the number of Asian Americans who were accepted at the school and subsequently implemented a new policy aimed at reducing those figures in favor of black and Hispanic students. While there was no evidence that the original policy was in any way discriminatory, including its battery of tests for applicants, the new policy promoted a "holistic" approach that included "Experience Factors" such as being eligible for free and reduced-price meals and their status as an English language learner. 2016 Miss America Betty Maxwell performed a rendition of "Jesus Take the Wheel" during her audition on the hit reality competition show "American Idol" and received a unanimous "yes" from the judges. Maxwell took to Instagram on Monday to discuss her audition, writing, "I feel like I’m unworthy of the praise and the talents God gave me. I don’t know why…maybe part of it is just the pressure to always have something bigger and better on the horizon. ...
