Modernism Week, the annual festival that highlights midcentury modern architecture, art, interior and landscape design, and vintage culture in the Palm Springs area of Southern California, has added new events to its schedule. More than 350 events (including tours, talks, films, and more) are being offered during the 11-days of the festival, which runs February 17-27. These newly added events include Modernism Week Featured Home Tour: Maison Bleue Moderne (artfully redesigned William Krisel property built by the Alexander Company in the 1950s), An Afternoon of Jazz at a spectacular mid-century retreat (acclaimed Canadian jazz cellist Kye Marshall will play selections from the Great American Songbook), and A Glamorous Evening with Nelda Linsk from âPoolside Gossipâ (travel back to 1970s Palm Springs when iconic photographer Slim Aarons captured her in the famous âPoolside Gossipâ photograph. Tickets for these and much more are now on sale at modernismweek.com. |
