Miss Grace Is Back!
Our Miss Grace Shawl Kit sold out in record time, so we decided to bring it back. I'm so glad, because it's absolutely stunning, and the knitting is adventurous and fun.
We partnered with Skeino to bring you this kit in special colors: deep purples with touches of blue. So pretty. Amy Palmer knitted this beauty in our exclusive colorway, and it turned out beautifully. Louisa is modeling it at right.
The undulating waves look of the Miss Grace Shawl is the product of a technique called tapestry knitting. It's all done in garter stitch, and for this pattern each row is actually a garter ridge, which is made up of two rows of garter stitch.
The chart for this project is a work of art in itself. It's a pictorial representation of the finished work, not your usual knitting chart depicted in graph style.
Miss Grace starts out easy, with just one color and a series of garter ridges, adding colors and techniques as you go, so you're building your skills as you knit the Miss Grace Shawl. If you're a relatively new knitter, you shouldn't be intimidated by this pattern; you'll learn what you need to know as you knit the project.
