❄️ Wednesday’s forecast models continue to scream snow for parts of Minnesota on Halloween. Warm ground will eat up the first inch or two that falls, but forecast models indicate intense snowfall rates will likely overcome warm ground to produce accumulations in some areas.

🎃 Most forecast models suggest the precipitation will move on toward the evening, so it's going to be a chilly night for trick-or-treating in Minnesota.

With assurance and support, Native people with felony records head out to vote

Last year the Minnesota legislature passed a law that allows people with a felony record an opportunity to register and participate in the election. The law, which was challenged by the Minnesota Voters Alliance, was upheld last August. Now, 55,000 Minnesotans with a felony conviction who have serve their sentences are re-enfranchised.
 
For these Arab-Americans, the election offers no easy choices

The Biden administration’s support for Israel has led to a significant decline in support from Arab-Americans, both Christian and Muslim, particularly in swing states like Michigan. The Arab American Institute, which is based in Washington, D.C., reports that while Arab American voter turnout has traditionally been about 80 percent, their survey shows a decline — with 63 percent of the community feeling enthusiastic about voting.
🎃 Rain changing to snow in Twin Cities, Duluth for Halloween. What you need to know. Snowfall rates of 1 inch per hour are possible in some areas. A few embedded thunderstorms are also possible, which could enhance snow rates further.

🗳️ After 38 years of consistency, Winona-area House district to gain new lawmaker after intense race. In politically-split Winona, two candidates are seeking to replace a longtime legislator. The outcome of the race could determine party control of the Minnesota House.

🏛️ Grand jury indicts 11 alleged Lows members amid federal gang crackdown. Prosecutors say that the defendants are responsible for a spate of murders and attempted murders over the last three years targeting their rivals.

💸 Anonymous donor pays assessment bill to save Fergus Falls historic home. An anonymous donor has stepped up to save the historic home of the first Black resident of Fergus Falls. The 139-year-old house faced forfeiture to Otter Tail County due to an unpaid city assessment bill.

🐘 Key Minnesota county ordered by court to reset board that will review absentee ballots. A Minnesota Supreme Court ruling gives Hennepin County until Friday to rework an absentee ballot board to include more members put forward by the state Republican Party.

👀 Stauber, Schultz clash in only debate in 8th Congressional District race. In a 40-minute televised debate, incumbent GOP U.S. Rep. Pete Stauber attempted to tie his Democratic opponent, Jen Schultz, to what he called the “failed, far-left” politics of the Biden administration. Schultz criticized Stauber for not accomplishing more for the district in his six years in office.
🎧 Multimillion-dollar ballot questions before Minnesota voters on Election Day. Some of the priciest local proposals before Minnesotans are in Stearns County, Cottage Grove and Richfield.
