🥶 The highest temperatures Wednesday will be in the morning and midday before cold air drops temperatures into the evening and overnight Wednesday night. Low temperatures will be in the single digits in eastern Minnesota and subzero west.
⛄ Several inches of snow are possible in the Arrowhead region with totals dropping off quickly to the south.

🚓 MN investigators obtain video from Winson Smith’s phone of fatal police shooting. Deputies involved in a federal SWAT operation fatally shot Winston Smith in a Minneapolis parking garage in 2021. State investigators say they have now obtained cell phone video of the shooting after trying more than 780,000 password combinations.
🏛️Minnesota House panel votes to absorb legal fees of DFLer in employment dispute. The decision covers about $10,400 in attorney fees for Rep. Bianca Virnig. The first-term Eagan legislator alleged that her former employer, a nonprofit school cooperative known as BrightWorks, reduced her pay and hours following her first session of service in the Legislature.
🗳️ St. Cloud appoints first Somali American to city council. On a unanimous vote Monday night, city councilors appointed Hudda Ibrahim to fill a Ward 3 vacancy on the seven-member panel. She replaces Jake Anderson, who was elected St. Cloud mayor last month.
🧊 Experts urge caution around thin ice after death, several rescues. A Duluth man was found dead Monday after falling through ice in Superior, Wis., and three people were also rescued from lakes in Woodbury. Ice safety experts say lots of ice around the state is still too thin to walk on, even as temperatures drop quickly.
🏋🏻♀️ Transgender powerlifter asks Minnesota Supreme Court to let her compete in women's events. JayCee Cooper’s attorney, Christy Hall, said USA Powerlifting’s policy discriminates against all transgender women, regardless of their individual physical capabilities, and urged the justices to reverse the Court of Appeals decision. |
