Sept. 28, 2020 Showers and cooler temps move in. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers and lows in the 40s. Tomorrow skies will be clearer, although showers will linger from overnight. Highs will be in the mid 50s northeast to the upper 60s southwest.
Minnesota Poll: Walz approval has slipped, but still strong. A new poll of Minnesota voters finds that a strong majority approves of the way Gov. Tim Walz is doing his job, even though his support has slipped since the early days of the coronavirus pandemic. Overall, 57 percent of those polled approve of the job Walz is doing. That's down from 65 percent in the last Minnesota Poll back in May. The new poll found that 36 percent disapprove, and 7 percent aren't sure.
The latest on COVID-19: New cases climb with testing. Minnesota is averaging more than 20,000 tests a day in the last week, a new record for the COVID-19 pandemic. The tests aren’t coming back with huge spikes of new cases, either, as the positivity rate has fallen from nearly 7 percent last week, back below 5 percent since Thursday.
