MILITARIA AUCTION Starts: Friday 14th January 10am Ends: Tuesday 1st February 5pm |
|
| We are excited to 'go live' with our first Militaria Auction of the year which includes a very interesting private collection formed by the Detective Superintendent of Shrewsbury Police during the 1940s-1950s. These items, found hidden in a trunk in the attic by the granddaughter-in-law of the original owner, were previously unknown to the family (and admittedly, a bit of a shock!). Included in the sale are some highly desirable obsolete calibre pistols dating from the 18th and 19th centuries together with objects relating to the history of policing. Of significant local interest are a number of Victorian Shropshire Police truncheons, which includes a beautifully painted example commemorating the 1926 General Strike in Shrewsbury. Further included are various different types of early handcuffs, First World War trench knuckledusters and a pretty terrifying spiked German trench club. |
