Of the other medals up for sale, the stand out piece is unquestionably a Peninsular War Military General Service medal accompanied by 11 clasps, awarded to Quartermaster Joshua Stubbs of the 48th (Northamptonshire) Regiment. Elsewhere, the auction includes a number of Royal Naval manuscript documents spanning the 18th and 19th centuries. Furthermore, there is also the dress uniform once worn by Captain McCarthy, esteemed commander of HMS Ajax from 1940 to 1941. |
