Michael Storer finished off a superb display of planning and teamwork from Team DSM on stage 7 of the Vuelta a España in which the riders launched an assault from the early kilometres of the mountain stage and dominated through to the finish. Having placed five riders in the day's break the team remained in control all day before Storer powered clear on the final climb to solo to victory.
Storer had Romain Bardet for company, who bounced back from a heavy fall two days ago to also finish in the top 10 with sixth, while Chris Hamilton, Martijn Tusveld and Thymen Arensman also made the move. Having planned perfectly for the stage, the riders delivered a collective display of strength with Storer soloing to the win on the steep final gradients of the stage.
