As we start the new year when the clock strikes 12 each year, it’s a moment full of hope, love and excitement. Its usually the culmination of a joyful holiday season where the whole world seems to have come to a standstill. With that exuberance comes a promise of new beginnings, perhaps to make this year better than the last. But within a few weeks, the excitement frazzles out with the return to the real world. The endless cycle of chores and the festive season almost a distant memory with the next one so far away. You may be missing your trusted circle of friends and family as well, a much needed support that is no longer readily available because they too have returned to the Real world. So in this ebb and flow of life that we have all come to know all too well, remember that you are not alone. Its okay to have the slower, routine days as this will help you appreciate the really good ones. Your true friends will still reach out to you but equally learn to be a true friend as well. Try to be everything you would like to see in the World. A Friendly smile, a sympathetic ear and treat the people you meet with kindness. Be kind to yourself and always take care of your health. Before you know it, the Christmas tree will be up again and we will be doing the countdown. May this year be everything you have hoped for. |
