Mercedes-Benz has picked Google to help it advance the development of self-driving cars, envisaging vehicles that can pick up children from school and deliver greater mobility to the elderly and people with disabilities.

The luxury car maker will utilise the ever popular Google Maps supercharged with AI to offer assisted driving features such as automatic speed adjustments before intersections, roundabouts or curves.

A Melbourne start-up that sells products to the likes of Zara and The North Face has raised $10.5m to expedite its newest venture.

Xefco, which was founded six years ago by Tom Hussey and Brian Conolly, has demonstrated the ability to dye clothing without the excessive use of water, a finding that has gathered keen interest among investors.
