January 16, 2023Good morning. π€οΈ Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in the United States, and we honor the spiritual and civil rights leader who people often forget was not as popular during his day as he is now. Like all true leaders, MLK knew that truth and justice are not about being liked, but about standing up for what is right and just. May we all learn from his life, work, and writings and follow his lead to stand up for what is right, not just for what is convenient or comfortable. β Hrag Vartanian, editor-in-chief Hank Willis Thomas Memorializes MLK and Coretta Scott Kingβs LoveThe sculptural tribute was installed in a Boston park, the city where the couple first met. | Billy Anania Do you value Hyperallergic? We need your support to continue publishing quality arts journalism and criticism.
