Meghan Markle is pulling out all the stops to promote her upcoming Netflix show—including parading out her family. The Duchess of Sussex used her daughter Lilibet this weekend in an Instagram story tagged “@netflix,” as she seeks to drum up interest in her new series out Tuesday, titled With Love, Meghan. Meghan, who has fiercely guarded her children’s privacy and typically only releases images of them viewed from the back, posted a video that showed the clearest yet view of Lilibet, 3, who has inherited her father’s red hair, playing a board game called Candy Land with Serena Williams. The post was tagged with a message saying, “3 days until the party begins, all are invited, @netflix.” The message was also captioned with the message, “When the aunties come to celebrate…and play. Love you @serenawilliams.” Meghan is estranged from almost all members of both her and her husband’s families of origin, including Lilibet’s uncle William, his wife Kate, her own father and her half-sister Samantha. With Love, Meghan is due to drop on Tuesday and will see the duchess in the kitchen with friends including actresses Mindy Kaling and Abigail Spencer. |
Also this weekend, Meghan posted a teaser of herself chatting and cooking with chef Roy Choi, as they prepped Korean fried chicken. The show was delayed from its previous January release date due to the California wildfires. Meghan desperately needs a successful project and will be hoping the show is a hit. |
Harry launches into Trump |
Prince Harry seems unafraid of rattling Donald Trump’s cage. The president previously said he would not deport Harry, which may explain Harry’s decision to lash out this week at Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and the MAGA movement in general at the Upfront Summit, a tech conference, in Los Angeles. “Now, this would be a great time to talk about how a sickness in leadership across sectors, from politics to tech, can have a detrimental effect on millions, if not billions, of people. When service to others is sacrificed for personal gain. When basic morals and empathy are abandoned in favor of power and control,” Harry said. |
In this week’s royal news: |
King Charles invited Trump to the U.K. for an unprecedented second state visit (before he lost his mind at Zelensky). Queen Camilla has a new dog and it’s not a corgi. Prince William is learning Welsh on Duolingo. The royal train chugs on. |
