25th Anniversary Gala Speaker Announcement: Rafael Bardají Spain's Former National Security Advisor Please join Rafael Bardají to celebrate the work and accomplishments of the Middle East Forum over its first 25 years. Mr. Bardají served as national security advisor to Prime Minister José María Aznar of Spain and is a known for his pro-NATO, pro-American, and pro-Israel views, as well as his opposition to radical Islam. Prior to that, he was senior strategic advisor to the defense minister of Spain. He has degrees from Oxford University, Harvard, and MIT. Since leaving government, he has served as executive director of the Friends of Israel Initiative – a global organization headed by Stephen Harper of prominent figures fighting the delegitimization of Israel – since its founding in 2010. He is also a leader of Vox, Spain’s new civilizationist party (often mislabeled as “far-right” by establishment media) which just won 24 seats in Spain’s parliamentary elections. He also consults for NATO military commands, the Spanish armed forces, and the Spanish intelligence services. Don't miss this celebration to meet friends, old and new, and to talk with the people who have made MEF what it is today. Black-tie optional. Please RSVP by May 16. Mix and mingle with Spain's former foreign national security advisor during the gala's cocktail hour, where photo opportunities will be available. Sit for dinner as we celebrate our past and look towards the future. Listen to our eloquent speakers offer insights from unique perspectives. To honor our supporters, the event is complimentary to all donors who give $500 a year or more (or $1,000 per couple). The Forum previously announced the participation of Ron Dermer, Israeli ambassador to the U.S., and John Baird, former foreign minister of Canada.
