I like the classic Old Fashioned just fine. I really like playing with the spirit base, though. Have you tried an Old Fashioned made with tequila and mezcal? You should, I’ll wait. And when you’re ready, I invite you to go even further. Here’s an Old Fashioned made with apple brandy (the 100-proof stuff, please!) and sweetened with Jägermeister, a bitter, herbal liqueur that is definitely worth giving another chance. If you ever drink amaro, this might just become your new signature cocktail.
