WHO at the 24th International AIDS Conference (29 July – 2 August 2022) -- Montreal, Canada The theme of AIDS2022 is “Re-engage and follow the science,” with more than 600 sessions including 70 satellite sessions. The conference provides a unique opportunity for WHO to promote its policies, guidelines and tools and to demonstrate its contribution to the health sector response to HIV and related areas of health. Senior World Health Organization officials participating in the 24th International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2022): - Dr Matshidiso Moeti, Regional Director for Africa - Dr Soumya Swaminathan, Chief Scientist - Dr Ren Minghui, Assistant Director-General, Universal Health Coverage/Communicable and Noncommunicable Diseases - Dr Meg Doherty, Director, Global HIV, Hepatitis and Sexually Transmitted Infections Programmes - Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General, will participate virtually in a special session on health equity as well as a session on pediatric HIV. At a series of WHO-led satellite events, WHO will release: - New guidelines for use of injectable cabotegravir (CAB-LA) to prevent HIV infection - Guidelines for diagnosis, treatment and care of HIV, hepatitis and STIs for key populations - Updated recommendations for diagnosing, preventing and managing cryptococcal disease among adults, adolescents and children living with HIV WHO will be participating at the Official AIDS 2022 Press Conference on Long-Acting PrEP on Thursday 28 July, 10:00 – 11:00 EDT.
