Click here Monday, 18 July 2022 Media advisory Live webcast of second meeting of the Intergovernmental In December 2021, at its second-ever special session, the World Health Assembly established an Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) to draft and negotiate a convention, agreement or other international instrument under the WHO Constitution, to strengthen pandemic prevention, preparedness and response, with a view to adoption under Article 19, or under other provisions of the WHO Constitution as may be deemed appropriate by the INB. LIVE WEBCAST The INB's second meeting takes place Monday-Friday this week (18-22 July) and will be webcast live here. The provisional agenda and other documents are also available here. Multiple global legally binding agreements, conventions, accords, and other types of international instruments have been developed by WHO Member States to protect and promote people’s health, including the WHO Constitution itself, the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, and the International Health Regulations. Such instruments were created by Member States in order to secure and foster further collaboration in multiple areas that impact on the health and well-being of people in communities, countries and globally. The INB will work based on the principles of inclusiveness, transparency, efficiency, Member State leadership and consensus.
