COVID-19 update in the Western Pacific Region

WHAT:

Media are invited to a virtual press conference at 10:00 am Manila time on Wednesday 25 August 2021, where the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for the Western Pacific, Dr Takeshi Kasai, will provide an update on COVID-19 in the Region* and take questions from journalists.

He will be joined by Dr Tamano Matsui, Programme Area Manager for Health Emergency Information and Risk Assessment, Dr Huong Tran, Director of Programmes for Disease Control and Dr Socorro Escalante, Coordinator for Essential Medicines and Health Technologies.

WHEN:

Journalists should connect at 09:50 am Manila time, 10 minutes before the virtual press conference begins.
