FCC Probes Cable Ops on 'Ditch the Box' Effort
The FCC has a bunch of questions for cable operators and other backers of the apps-based "ditch the box" compromise proposal on promoting competitive navigation devices. more
WHY THIS MATTERS: FCC staffers have been meeting with stakeholders, including the NCTA, since chairman Tom Wheeler said he was open to productive discussions about finding common ground on the issue, and while their questions covered points of agreement, the devil will be in the details.

Univision Sues Charter
Univision has filed suit against Charter Communications over fees for carriage of the network on its systems, including Time Warner Cable systems now part of Charter. more
WHY THIS MATTERS: Univision said Charter has insisted the contract the programmer had with TWC prior to the merger is "controlling," rather than the deal Univision had with Charter, an argument Univision said was based on "a preposterous theory."
