HABITAT III: Historic recognition of SSE
in the New Urban Agenda !
Following the high-level event held on September 20, 2016 during the United Nations General Assembly, the International Leading Group on SSE (ILGSSE)organized on Monday, October 17 in Quito a side event on the role of social and solidarity economy to implement the New Urban Agenda.

Conference in Bratislava on Social economy
Under the Slovak presidency of the Council of the European Union, a large conference on social economy took place in Bratislava last November 30th and December 1st. The MBM chaired a roundtable on the external dimension of social economy.
UN Task Force on SSE
Observer member of the UN inter-agencies Task Force on SSE, The MBM participated in the technical symposium organized in Roma from 3 to 4 November, 2016. The meeting was focused on SSE as a means of implementing the Sustainable Development Goeals (SDGs) and made participants work on the Task Force's actions strategic planning.

Feedback on the 1st Pan-African Forum on Youth for SSE
From 17 to 22 October in Lomé (Togo), the first Pan-African Forum on Youth for SSE was organized by the association Acteurs pour une Économie Solidaire au Togo (APES-Togo) -which is a member of the MBM- on the theme "African youth, actor of a human and solidarity development".
Rich in sharing and enrichment, the Forum was concluded by the adoption of a joint declaration.

The 7th edition of the ILO Academy on Social and Solidarity Economy took place from 21 to 25 November in San José, Costa Rica, on "Social and Solidarity Economy: generation of employment and promotion of local development".
The opportunity for the Mont-Blanc Meetings to discuss with the various SSE actors from Central and Latin America who attended the event.

Conference of the association Épargne Sans Frontière

Organized last November 22 in Paris, the conference of the association Epargne Sans Frontière focused on the role of social and solidarity finance in financing the Sustainable Development Goals.
Partner of the event, the MBM association intervened on the international dynamics of the actors of social and solidarity finance.

Place of sharing and enrichment, the web plateform "Project Place" is online! Promoting social and solidarity projects and initiatives, the platform also aims to connect SSE actors by offering them a permanent discussion forum. Discover it here !

Discover an Initiative

The Sakhrah Women's Society Cooperative promotes the economic, social and cultural rights of women in remote and rural areas of Jordan. Its female members cultivate, manufacture, package and market the cooperative’s farming and crafts products and share in the profits, while their children are enrolled in the cooperative’s childcare programme or benefiting from school and university grants given by the group.
