Around 70 banner-wielding protesters turned out today for a demonstration against a foul stench from a controversial landfill site which they say has blighted their lives for around four months.
The Big Day Out Festival, which was due to come to Preston for the first time this summer, has been cancelled, according to a statement posted on an online ticket website.
Preston North End boss Alex Neil says results are more important than performances at this stage of the season after seeing his side beat Hull City at Deepdale.
