Simpsons Voice Actor Hank Azaria’s Response to Apu Complaints Was Much Better Than the Show’s

Homer and Apu on The Simpsons
The 2017 documentary The Problem With Apu stirred up some long-running sentiments about the Indian-American Simpsons character, and a lot of people (us included) were pretty unhappy about how the show handled the criticism—including the character's voice actor, Hank Azaria. The actor made an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last night, and he explained that he had nothing to do with the scene and very much disagrees with the way it was handled.

Spoiler-Free Review: Avengers: Infinity War Is a Gutsy Movie Full of Surprises

Avengers: Infinity War
I’ve been writing about Infinity War for the better part of a year, but I was not prepared for what it had in store. I stared at it slack-jawed for the last ten minutes, astonished at the places where Marvel took this movie.

Aidy Bryant Set to Star as Lindy West in Hulu Adaptation of Shrill: Notes From a Loud Woman

Aidy Bryant on Saturday Night Live
Lindy West is one of our favorite feminist writers out there, and she's now having her book Shrill: Notes From a Loud Woman adapted into a single-camera comedy for Hulu. Even better? In the most perfect bit of casting of all time, Saturday Night Live's Aidy Bryant is set to star as the TV version of West. The show is only in development, but I already can't wait!

J’onn and Lena Help Myr’nn and Sam Go “In Search of Lost Time” on This Week’s Supergirl

Last night's Supergirl, "In Search of Lost Time," was front-loaded with humor and lightness to offset some pretty stressful and emotionally draining stuff. While Lena is helping Sam come to terms with the fact that she just might somehow be a Worldkiller, J'onn struggles with his father's dementia, as well as his pride. This episode demonstrates that in certain instances, the only way to help or save someone is to be willing to upset them.

A Quiet Place as an Allegory for Living the Undocumented Life in America

John Krasinski as Lee in A Quiet Place
Imagine that you have to do what it takes to survive and avoid being killed by creatures who hunt based on sound, only being able to trust your immediate family to work together and be as prepared as you can be for the worst at all times. Not only is this the premise of John Krasinki’s directorial debut, A Quiet Place, but it also represents the very real circumstances lived by undocumented immigrants every day.

Tara Strong as Batgirl in Batman: The Killing Joke (2016)
Like him or not, due to his work with Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Firefly, Joss Whedon will always occupy a semi-venerated position in fandom. Even to people like me who are aware that he has definitely not evolved as a writer since Buffy and Firefly.

Another Man’s Toxic Behavior Is Poised to Cost a Bunch of People Their Jobs, This Time on Fox’s Lethal Weapon

lethal weapon cancelled toxic behavior clayne crawford
If these reports are true, I hope Crawford sees consequences for the toxic behavior described. I hope however many hundreds or thousands of people rely on the show for their income don't have to suffer as well. And eventually, I hope we reach a point where shitty dudes like these stop getting work, or at the very least, realize their workplace is not an acceptable outlet for their abusive behavior.
