GERMANY 1997 © Martin Parr / Magnum Photos und Kunstfoyer | | | | Martin Parr (*1952) is one of the most influential documentary photographers of our time. In his works, the British photographer explores the social reality: illuminating phenomena such as consumption, tourism or national identity from an entertaining perspective, in so much that the banal, extreme and sometimes unfathomable become apparent in the everyday. The esteemed, award-winning artist is a member of the renowned Magnum photographic agency, which is no stranger to Kunstfoyer VKB, Munich, owing to previous collaborations on several other significant exhibitions. | | | | | | Knokke Le Zoute. BELGIUM. 2001 © Martin Parr / Magnum Photos und Kunstfoyer | | | | Souvenir is not only the first retrospective but is concurrently a biographical exhibition, which was also curated by the photographer.
