MARKET ALERT: Stocks sharply lower on heightened trade tensions

U.S. stocks on Tuesday closed sharply lower -- at one point the Dow Jones Industrial Average had lost more than 600 points -- as Wall Street worried that the U.S. and China will not be able to resolve their trade differences before China tariffs are increased later this week.
