Biography

I have been creating art, drawing and painting since my teens, it has been a fifty five years journey, fifty of those years seriously. I have worked in all the major painting media, oils, acrylics, egg tempera, pastels and watercolors. Drawing has always been my first love of art and continues today, mostly as preparatory works, sketches, but still I have the need to create a drawing that stands on its own. The years have seen me painting with detailed realism, to Impressionism, to semi-abstraction and expressionism. The land and sea have been the most constant subject matter for me, nothing pleases me more than sitting in nature, be it a hillside, woods or shoreline.

I have participated in many shows, one-man, juried and invitational, having won a number of awards. I have had pastels in the 'Top 100 Pastel Artist' featured in the Pastel Journal magazine twice, and most recently have a watercolor in the 'Splash 24' edition of The Best Of Watercolor magazine.

Throughout this fifty years journey my greatest support has always been my beautiful wife Kathy. Without her love and support the journey might never have happened.
