Getting Ahead
The feeling of "shift shock," or realizing that a new job is much different than you initially believed, has become more common among workers, with 72% of more than 2,500 participants in a recent survey by The Muse indicating they'd experienced it. While 41% of respondents said they would wait two to six months to change jobs after feeling shift shock, 48% said they would try to go back to their old job after having the feeling and 80% said it's OK to leave before six months if the job doesn't meet expectations.
