Saddle Creek Logistics Services bringing jobs to Duncan

Saddle Creek Logistics Services plans to open a distribution center in Duncan to support the expansion of a “major retail client,” according to a news release. Scheduled to open in January, the facility will create more than 150 new warehouse jobs in the area. (GSA Business Report)

Sapience Automation establishes Berkeley County facility

Automation and robot integration company Sapience Automation has established operations in Berkeley County with a $500,000 investment that is expected to create 26 jobs. Sapience focuses on the integration of industrial robots for manufacturers, working through automation, optimization and other operations. (Charleston Regional Business Journal)

Air Premia orders 5 Boeing 787s

The Korean startup airline has ordered five 787-9 Dreamliner airplanes, following its agreement to lease three dash-9s from Air Lease Corp. earlier this year. Air Premia is expected to launch operations by September 2020 and will be South Korea’s second Dreamliner operator. (Charleston Regional Business Journal)

Adidas opens store in Upstate for employees and (sometimes) others

For about 2,000 employees of Adidas and Reebok, one of the company perks just got a little better. Adidas, which owns Reebok, opened a store this month that is almost exclusively for employees of the company’s 2.4 million-square-foot distribution center in Spartanburg and its area retail stores.
